Where - Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA. Tour leaves from lobby of Queen Mary Hotel.
When- March 28th, 11:00am - 4:00pm
What- Tour bus will arrive at the Aquarium of the Pacific where attendees will hear presentations by Joaquin Esquivel (Chair, State Water Resources Control Board) and Dr. Jerry Schubel (CEO, Aquarium of the Pacific). The day will continue at the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant (JWPCP) in Carson. The JWPCP is the largest wastewater treatment plant operated by the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County with a capacity of 400 million gallons per day and a current flow of 250 million gallons per day (enough to fill the Rose Bowl three times a day). The plant combines wastewater treatment with innovative resource recovery, intensive environmental monitoring programs and a sensitivity to the surrounding community to create a state of the art facility. Attendees will arrive back at the Queen Mary Hotel by 4:00pm.
Additional details - Comfortable clothing is encouraged. No additional expense required. WELL will provide transportation and bagged lunch.
